The Programme

Phase 1 : 12th Sept - 6th Dec '08: Introduction to Mission Course (IMC), a classroom and practical teaching period, which includes foreign travel. Click here to view the 2007 IMC timetable (pdf file).

Phase 2 : 7th Dec '08 - 1st Jan '09: Month off to see family and friends, and make preparations.*

Phase 3 : 2nd - 9th of Jan '09: World Horizons UK conference, followed by final group preparation week.

Phase 4 : 10th Jan - 6th July '09: Overseas placement.

Phase 5 : 7th July - 11th July '09: Celebration Week, which includes team and personal debriefing sessions.

Phase 6 : 12 th July ‘09 – Gap Year Open Day

* We recognise the vital importance of ensuring that students go on their placements with the appropriate level of pastoral and practical support behind them. We therefore expect this to be a time when the students can feedback to family and church leaders about their plans and expectations, in order to ensure the appropriate level of backing emotionally and spiritually.

 

The Costs

The costs are divided into two parts - the cost for the training course and the cost for the placement (the cost of the placement varies due to location, flight, etc).

-Initial training and preparation course (IMC) - £2,200.(This is fully inclusive of accommodation, food, teaching and administration, and all costs for the trips to London, Central Asia and also the ‘Celebration Week’ in July.)

-Placement costs - vary but are typically between £2,000 and £2,500. (This is inclusive of flights, internal travel, team costs, food and accommodation.)
