What do you mean "Not Everything in the Bible is Inspired?

Slow down a minute. Read the title of the book again, a bit more carefully. Just like when reading the Bible, it is important to pay close attention to words! Not Everything in Our Bibles... No current editions of the Bible are exactly like the original manuscripts that the authors themselves wrote - and it is these "autographs" that were inspired by God. For a start, our Bibles are translations, and, however good they are, they are not exactly the same as the Hebrew, Aramaic, or Greek. Then there is a whole lot included, ostensibly to help us understand the Bible, that was also not in the originals - like chapter and verse divisions, punctuation, paragraph headings and sub-titles, study notes, concordance... These affect our understanding of the Bible considerably.

Basically, that is what this book is about - how these editorial additions in our Bibles affect what we understand, each chapter looking at particular examples of this. I think you will enjoy it - as well as being challenged by what you read.

What have other people said about it?

If you want to know what other people have said about "Not Everything", you can read the foreword by Ralph Winter. You can also read the commendations from various people included in the book.

And if I want to know more?

Well, you can read the synopsis which gives an overview of the book's contents and details of what each chapter is actually about. But after that, all that is left really is to buy the book!
